Michael Coté has taken a position at Dell. That’s right – we’re losing our chief phrasemaking officer, a top notch analyst. Luckily, however, the best writer on the team – my business partner Stephen O’Grady – is sticking around and he wrote a beautiful paean last Friday, summing everything up. You should read it.
Bottom line- we understand why Coté is leaving and we wish him all the best. Not needing to travel is a powerful offer for the father of a one year old, and not one we could match at RedMonk. Like Stephen I’d like to thank Coté for all his hard work over the past five and half years. Wherever we go from here Coté will be still be with us -the corporate culture and voice are as much his as ours.
But if you think you have something to add to that culture and voice, if you’re looking to make an impact and speak up for developers, then we’ll be hiring soon enough, so please drop us a line.
