How To Set Up AT&T Wireless on Android

I got a new HTC Desire last week, and upon arriving in the US realised that I didn’t have the settings moved over from my old HTC Magic. Note to Android team – you need a central mechanism for this if you really want to provide carrier independence. πŸ˜‰

Anyway I knew the settings were out there somewhere, because I’d found them before. What made me chuckle this time was that I found the right settings on a post from an old pal – Stephe Walli. Thanks man!!!

So if you’re looking for the right “APN” Settings, here they are:

Name: AT&T
APN: wap.cingular
Proxy: leave blank
Port: leave blank
Username:[email protected]
Password:CINGULAR1
Server: leave blank
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS Port: 80
MCC:310
MNC:410 (note. this could also be 310, 41 or 15)
APN Type: leave blank
