I have said before that the Tories seem to have all the best tunes at the moment. Perhaps their tech savvy is borne of the fact they are in office, but not in power, and so have plenty of time to feed their crackberry addictions. The Tories can afford to be bursty where Labour is all about looking busy.
Colour me impressed when within about 30 minutes of posting this call for a no vote to forthcoming EU IP legislation I got this email from one of my local MEPs, Charles Tannock. Here is the reply in full:
Dear Mr Governor
Thank you for your email regarding the Second Intellectual Property Enforcement Directive. The Conservative delegation in the European Parliament will be voting against this Directive as it lays down rules on criminal sanctions which go too far. Thank you for taking the time to write to me on this matter.
Yours sincerely
Dr. Charles Tannock MEP
Office of Dr. Charles Tannock MEP
Conservative Representative for London Region
Once again, I am impressed. There is really neat techno libertarian streak in the Tories that deserves encouragement. Seriously, the only party for dorks to vote for is looking like the Conservatives. I don’t think I ever expected to say that.

I’m ever impressed at your ability to have an open mind on things. Especially where you are most passionate.
