Its one big frigging con job. someone is taking back handers. the whole system needs an overhaul. i am so fed up with the shysters. why can’t i buy a domain that has lapsed? long after the fact – it has a bunch of bullshit log errors, it should have been free since jan 22nd. now suddenly i get an email offering to sell it to me. someone is porking me. is it hostway? or what? how does the scam work? i really want to punch someone’s lights out. 2500 euros? kiss my ass. The Americans keep saying leave the stewardship alone. So what is making the money? We’re all getting screwed by ICANN. Use it or lose it. Its yet another abuse of IP, like bogus patents.

Why the F*** do we put up with the domain name system?

If you’re trying to register an expiring domain, you’re shit out of luck. Expiring domains are generally re-registered automatically by firms like Pool.com or SnapNames within milliseconds of becoming available.
The expiration date given by Whois is always bullshit too.

We put up with it because they hadn’t invented automatically balancing DHTs when they created the DNS system.
