Snapshots: BEA, IBM, SAP, Oracle, Adobe

Its been a busy old couple of months, and no mistake. I have been doing more traveling than I would like, and certainly more than my wife appreciates.

I haven’t been doing much in the way of blogging though, partly because my laptop gave up the ghost at some point during the travel opus. I now have a new one, a Thinkpad X60, so I am back in the game.

There is a lot of information to chew on, given that I have been to BEA World in Prague, SAP Tech Ed in Amsterdam, with Oracle Openworld in San Francisco and Adobe MAX in Las Vegas. I didn’t go to the launch event, but IBM put forward a comprehensive set of announcements around service-oriented architecture that also deserve coverage.

I am going to use a slightly longer and less linky format than usual. I may also package some of the writing into a formal RedMonk Report. Anyway I hope that by the end of the month these snapshots will give some sense of the state of the nation when it comes to enterprise middleware.

The first snapshots look to SAP and IBM (I need to fill out some links and so on). They should go live tomorrow, although its Natalie’s birthday so I am not going to make any firm SLA promises.
