I’m not that optimistic. The 15 mill fine was in January, and since then the number of breaches doesnt seem to have changed.
SOX, oddly may have a +ve side-effect here. building a strong compliance function makes it much easier to police privacy too.
It will take greater consumer and govt pressure for things to really change….

the xanga event is new- so is the facebook fiasco. i am more hopeful than optimistic.
