Moonwatcher Technology: RSS is Velcro for Enterprise Applications
Charlie is on somewhat of a roll. This post about RSS being enterprise velcro, rather than glue, is a minor classic.
Perhaps he should have said ATOM though- which is more loosely coupled because it contains greater semantic richness. RSS is more like SMS.
On the other hand RSS is his platform choice, so be it.

Good point. But when I say “RSS” what I really mean is “feeds”, including Atom. In fact, I’m switching Spanning Salesforce from RSS 2.0 to Atom 1.0.
