As some of you know, I have been waiting for the birth of my first child. Well, he came into the world on Friday night at 9:02PM GMT.
We dont have a full name for little James yet but we’re working on it.
Thank you Natalie for doing such an incredible job and coping so well with everything.
I would also like to thank all the staff at Homerton Hospital who showed me how great an institution the National Health Service can be. We received exemplary care in both pre and post-natal wards.
I will now be taking a couple of weeks off to get to know the little tyke so I imagine this blog will be a little quiet.
Fancy that: another chip off the old monk…

What wonderful news! Congratulations to you and your wife and little boy. Those first few days and weeks seem like slow motion, full of diapers and burrito blanket wraps and lots and lots of holding. What joy. Best wishes…

i figure you’re right, nigel. its kind of like the internet. life doesnt seem *so* very different after the “boom”. but the ongoing changes are going to be far wider than one could have ever expected. i have both over, and underestimated the changes involved….
and yes chris we have been out once, but with a papoose, rather than a pram. baby likes the fresh air.
