Well just as a contrarian brief, I have been thinking a little about the big picture.
The big picture is that Google and Apple are both the biggest players in storage. They are storage and information management companies.
If Google plans to organise all the world’s information it’s going to have knock over the iPod, and whatever cool stuff Jobs has coming down the pike. We’re talking about organising the digital stories of our lives, online and offline. The iPod is to Google as the PC is to IBM. Its the end point, the place where people organise their digital lives. Google is the mainframe. Apple is the end point.
Yes I know Vista will be cool and that MSN will be in the mix. I just wanted to throw the competitive dynamic idea out there…
