RedMonk Unconference At Java One: Who is Up For It?

Share via Twitter Share via Facebook Share via Linkedin Share via Reddit

Sun is doing something pretty bold, which is giving RedMonk a track of our own at the Community One day at Java One. I am hoping it will rock, but we’ll need your help for that. So if you’re coming to Java One please join us. If you have any ideas for agenda items please post them here at our wiki, or email us, or twitter us, or use telepathy or whatever. Key point: the content doesn’t have to be about Java. In fact its supposed to be about other things:

James Governor and Steven O’Grady of RedMonk will be moderating an unconference. Any subject is fair game, but open source will likely be the common thread. Propose and lead a session, or be an active participant

Here are some possibles:

# Open source license dork-out hour
# Governance and Process: Running open source projects
# Using Blogging to Get Stuff Done, intra and cross-company.
# Bottom Up Marketing
# so you took over the enterprise: what now?
# Dynamic Languages and Java, catching up with .Net’s CLR

  5. What about a discussion of where various open source projects can cooperate on shared goals? I’m thinking, in particular, about packagaing systems used across different open source OSs but I suspect there are other areas where cooperation might yield results everyone can benefit from.

  6. I will ask for attendees to ask why industry analysts don’t provide more coverage of non-commercial open source…
