“Metaphors dictate how we live in the world”. This is just some of the wisdom Alvaro Videla shared with us at this years Monki Gras. Inspired by the 1980 book “Metaphors we live by”. Alvaro asks questions like; why do arguments have to be war? And why do we call humans resources? He also explains the similarities between language and machine code and the benefits that understanding this may bring to software development and the usage of software. The sheer volume of research that Alvaro has put into this talk makes it a much watch.
