He argues that the more feature rich platform rarely wins, but rather the most convenient one does. Examples range from blocks of ice to Postgres vs MySQL to apt-get to permissive license adoption in open source, Salesforce vs Siebel, and of course Amazon Web Services Cloud destroying the hardware business.
