In this RedMonk Conversation, James Governor chats with Mathew Lodge, CEO of Diffblue, about some exciting news. Diffblue is announcing a new $8 million funding round led by AlbionVC; given the current challenges of the economic environment, this helps put some money in the bank and also helps accelerate their roadmap.

Diffblue is an AI for code company, meaning they make software that writes software. Their first product, Diffblue Cover, uses AI reinforcement learning to autonomously write unit tests for Java applications. Mathew says, “the irony of software is that it’s revolutionized productivity in so many industries, but never itself.” The movement of using AI for unit testing allows big companies to modernize and do fully autonomous coding.
