A very happy birthday to Kubernetes! Today marks ten years since the project’s first commit.
Some options for those who care to celebrate:
- Read this 10 Years of Kubernetes post on the Kubernetes blog. There’s a lot of great history here, but also a nice TL;DR on the current state of the project and where it goes from here.
- Check out the story behind the 10-year Kubernetes anniversary logo.
- Find a KuberTENes events near you (or just be amused by the play on words)
- Consider dropping a trip to KubeCon + CloudNativeCon London onto your spring 2025 calendar (n.b. that Monki Gras 2025 will be happening in London the week before)
- Be in complete and envious awe of Ashley Willis’s Kubernetes logo earrings
- Take a nostalgic look at some of RedMonk’s early coverage of containers (which we still refer to at RedMonk as, historically, one of the fastest growing technologies we had ever seen), Kubernetes, and the container orchestration wars. Fun fact: RedMonk’s thoughtful takes in these areas are part of what initially drew me into the world of industry analysts.
