A really excellent explanation from first principles of what streaming data is, and what is the role of a distributed log system in managing it. Stopford takes us through Apache Kafka, and his work at Confluent, with real-world examples including motor racing, shipping, motor racing, thermostats, and health care. This is a great talk for anyone interested in the data management aspects of high scale IoT platforms.
