designers and arty types predict how we'll back on the 2000's – "when everybody is equally dressed down, a bag is the only way to proclaim a high-fashion badge. Everything else was about repetition and looking backwards, from the Sienna Miller Sixties boho moment to the current Eighties revival. Happier times" – "This is a big sea-change: it is more about communication through the word and less about the image" – "People listening to iPods on their way to work—and not merely as a symbol of technology, but as a representation of a sort of introversion, a retreat within our own bubble. A sort of atomisation—one we’ve imposed on ourselves rather than one we’ve had forced on us by economic forces. I suppose you could see it as the triumph of individualism." – and so on.

- Twitter Data Dump: InfoChimps Puts 1B Connections Up for Sale
Here, what RedMonk is interested in is selling data, data marketplaces. Infochimps is actually selling this data for $6,000 a chunk. It'll be exciting if there's a market for that, very cyberpunk a la Islands in the Net.

- Google Wave relies on kindness of strangers
Brief, but interesting insight into Google's plans for getting Wave success – it depends on lots of users (not big surprise) and third party integrations. Bit of a chicken and egg problem there, but Google can fall back on its brand (trusting the user base will grown & marketing glow-off) to motivate third party integrators. Me: I'd just like a less Ajax interface for it. It's like when GMail didn't have a delete button.
