- Why 'Millennials' Are Impulse Shoppers
Overview of a study of Millennial women (ages 20 to 30 represent, women born between 1979 and 1989) shoppers, e.g.: "Compared to their elders, [woman] Millennials tend to use less coupons and circulars. They are also more likely to shop without a budget and make impulse grocery purchases. Due to their quick purchasing decisions, these women are also less likely to stock up while deals and bargains last. Marketers, Seitzinger said, have better luck reaching these women via the right in-store messaging and packaging size. Such behaviors derive from the fact that these shoppers are both time strapped and aren’t as savvy as older shoppers when it comes to looking for deals."

'As the economy is destined to get worse before it gets better, and don’t give me that “The recession is over” bullshit, when one in six Americans are out of work, and these are the poor fuckers you expect to buy your made in China, Gucci loafers at Wal-Mart… Clients are increasingly getting antsy about having their marketing and advertising budgets produce concrete results. That’s why I said last week that any client with half a brain will soon come to the realization that if their agency is playing the “Brand Building” card, rather than delivering sales results, they are going to be in serious shit.'

"Instil Software has spent the past 2-3 years helping their client (Aepona) develop 'Telecom Web Services', a platform that exposes Telco operator capabilities such as SMS and Location to third-party applications. Capabilities are leveraged either remotely via SOAP/REST endpoints – provisioned on a per-partner basis and backed by an SLA – or by deploying OSGi-bundles directly into the system. Starting off life as a single monolithic project, this talk tracks the successful evolution of TWS into a highly modular OSGi-based platform. "

"I am not saying that we don’t need service level agreements or any form of commitment from IT to their customers. I am saying that if a contract is all you have for a relationship with a customer that relationship is destined to become adversarial very quickly. I am saying that IT must have an informed consultant relationship with all of their customers. To do that a number of things must happen."
