By Stephenson’s definition, would you characterize yourself as a wizard in the data management realm? Have you freed yourself from the shackles of relational databases? Do you have a hands on understanding of the data management issues posed by distributed applications as discussed by Bosworth here or here? Ever built your own database engine? If you can answer yes to most of the above, I know someone that would like to talk with you (and pay you), so drop me a line. To be clear, these folks are not looking for traditional DBAs however talented they might be, but folks that have that experience but also hands on work building and designing non-relational, distributed stores.

Given the fact that I’ve covered related issues a time or two in the past in this space, I thought there might be some folks out there with the requisite skillset that might be interested in the opportunity to a.) apply those skills, and b.) solve some pretty cool distributed data store problems. I’m always willing to post things that might benefit you guys, customer or not.
