As is the case with many holidays and traditions, I think the history of Christmas is less well known and understood than perhaps it should be (demonstrating as it does the extreme flexibility and pragmatism of the early Christians – a lesson other movements might do well to learn from), but there’s no question that it’s a big part of many family’s lives. Including ours.
So to those that are celebrating it, Merry Christmas. I hope the holiday finds you and your family happy and healthy. To those that aren’t, enjoy the day off.
