KDE joins Apple, GNOME, Google, and Microsoft as an organization with ambitions of making the contents of your local hard drive as easy to search as the billions of assets and resources connected to the network across the globe. I really don’t care who gets it right – just someone, make it work.

  2. Np at all. And re: Lookout, I have heard very good things about it – and obviously MS thought enough of them to pick them up (though why their built-in search isn't better is a mystery to me). The catch? I'm on Linux now – which you'll hear more about shortly if you watch the blog.
