The Registration Update

For those of you breathlessly awaiting word of my car registration situation, I’m pleased to inform you that it’s done. The process took all of about 45 seconds, and $700, and it’s still unclear to me why I had to be here in person. But it’s done. The important thing is that I’ve got a.) plates and b.) a brand new registration which are the two things I need to free my poor baby from the impound lot.

The plan now is to fly to NC on Monday afternoon, stay the night, complete my consult on Tuesday morning, and then redirect back to Hartford where depending on timing I’ll either pick up the car that evening or (more likely) the following morning. And then I still have about 2000 miles to go – oh joy.

On an unrelated note, given the way things are going the insurance option on my weekend rental was an easy choice. Thrifty’s given me a PT Cruiser – I swear, I get these things more than any other human – which has the nifty habit of spontaneously rolling down both back windows (the buttons aren’t being accidentally pushed as they are on the dash) every 10 minutes or so and refusing to roll them back up until the car is restarted.

You can’t make this stuff up…
