Blistering Heat, Tropical Storms and Earthquakes! Oh My!

Rumors that I now bring earthquakes along with tropical storms, pestilence and Smithwick’s are…true, as it turns out. Also, San Francisco was hotter than hell.

I’m as surprised as you are that it’s my first California quake, but as such things go it was mild. Sitting at SFO, it felt like a truck had backed softly into the wall I was sitting against, and that was it. But give me time: I promise that I can do better.

Anyway, last week was bereft of entries primarily due to scheduling: between visits to Mozilla and Sun and more than a few stolen hours at Office 2.0, it was a busy, exhausting trip. That said, any trip where you meet Edward O’Connor, John Lilly, Mike Shaver, and Ryan Tomayko for the first time – and, as a bonus, randomly run into Joshua Schachter – is nothing less than worthwhile.

This week’s busy, exhausting trip to Seattle has been cancelled, however, meaning that I’ll be around until late Thursday, at which point I’m headed to Chicago and thence to Michigan for a wedding event in Crystal Lake. Camp Crystal Lake, if you prefer. Following that, I’ll be in Denver, Vegas, and Denver in that order. Yes, you read that right.

After all of that, I’ll be returning to Maine. A few of you have inquired as to the timing of my transition back to my erstwhile home in Denver: I refer you instead to the schedule here, as it’s more accurate than anything I can provide.
