First, and most obviously: congratulations to the Giants fans and condolences to the Patriots fans. But to both of groups, I have much more important news: 10 days till pitchers and catchers report.
Which is nice. But now I’m in San Francisco, wreaking my particular brand of weather havoc on the Bay Area, where I’ll be through Thursday or possibly Friday. Assuming, of course, that I survive Wednesday’s big event. My schedule for the next few days is, as is traditional with analyst conferences, stretched, but worst case I expect to see many of you at the House of Shields for what is shaping up to be a party of special magnificence.
In the meantime, I’m at the Chieftain grabbing a portabella sandwich and getting a couple of things done. Following that I’ll be finalizing details at the House of Shields and meeting w/ Josh Berkus about the latest PostgreSQL hotness.
After that, conference activities begin in earnest. If you need to get a hold of me while I’m out here, Grand Central (617.395.5685) or AT&T (617.320.9757) can hook you up.
Incidentally, I need to take all of you into a limited conspiracy: I didn’t even bring the Brooks Brothers this trip, so jackets, jeans and cords are going to be the word of the day. For the first time ever at a non-developer conference.
Wish me luck.
