Google Spreadsheets adds ODF support; while there will still undoubtedly be many who mistakenly (IMO) compare this offering to Excel, the fact is that Writely/Spreadly have the potential to be the most widely available ODF application set

i’ll try and write something up on this soon, but i agree w/ Donnie’s comment: this is happening elsewhere, and is becoming more prevalent. i also, frankly, think it’s to be expected. the key is goals, i think.

i’ll need to write this up to, but Mark is as usual very diplomatic and respectful; i fully agree that a lot of the difficulty here is about goals, which is why i’ve been confused when i’ve heard Debian folks talk about being more like Ubuntu
