Never heard of it? That just means you’ve never lived in New England. In Boston, Patriot’s Day means an 11 AM Sox game and a noon start to the marathon. When I lived there, it usually meant taking the day off, and catching both events with some friends at a bar near the finish line. While in Maine, it usually meant an early, long lunch down Front St at JR Maxwell’s.
Here in Denver, it means having the Sox game on in the background while I finish printing and filing our taxes. 9:05 AM is just too early to be drinking a beer, holiday or no holiday. Particularly since our taxes got significantly more complicated – and expensive – this year for a couple of reasons.
Anyhow, soon as I get those done and filed I should have more for you.
