Made it safe and sound into Boston 20 minutes early this morning. My run of good travel luck is really beginning to freak me out. Even better, the good folks at the Royal Sonesta here in Cambridge were kind enough to let me check in at 6 AM rather than 3 PM, so I had time to catch a few extra hours of sleep this morning. This was fortunate because there was some kind of hugely loud super baby on the flight from Denver. Like Erik, I have a pair of Shure headphones that go deep into the ear canal, but it made no difference. This baby, sitting directly back and to my left was unreal. With headphones jammed all the way into my ears, and the iPod volume jacked up to tinitis inducing levels, I could still hear this poor thing wailing all the way over. Net net, didn’t get a lot of sleep.
My early admission to the Sonesta was not without a price however, in that the only unit available this early was a smoking room that has been heavily used in that regard, but I can deal for the little time I expect to be here. Will be heading out shortly to grab some lunch and hopefully some wifi, with a work dinner this evening and hopefully a meet up with Stephe Walli at some point this evening or tomorrow morning. Will keep you posted.
