Those of you visiting individual entries or picking up the site via a feed probably (hopefully) won’t notice this, but for those who come in the front door, the tecosystems main page is likely looking out-of-date (not reflecting current comments, etc), visually screwed up, or both. For some as yet undetermined reason, it sporadically stopped building properly earlier this week, only to refuse entirely late yesterday. Instead of regenerating the main index when changes are made – new entries, new comments, etc – it’s kicking me out with an HTTP 500. Movable Type support was moderately helpful at first, but essentially have punted back to me saying it’s one of my customizations (there are a lot of them, unfortunately) causing the problem and to try and remove them one by one. Ah, how I love debugging. Anyway, if you stop by and things look screwed up, that’s why. Individual entires and the feeds should be fine; please let me know if you’re having problems with either of those.
Update: A bit of trial and error indicates that it might have been the Top Searches feature causing the problem, as its removal seems to have at least temporarily alleviated the problem. No idea yet why it came up only now.
