I’m Back

Well, for the next two days anyhow. In case anyone was curious, the closing was very straightforward. After all the paperwork, all the bank snafus, the actual closing was almost anticlimactic: I signed a few hundred documents (knowing what less than 10% of them actually said), got some keys, and left much poorer than when I walked in.

Phone should be activated today, and as soon as that’s on I’ll be redirecting our toll free (866.RED.MONK) over there (for international callers, the new number will be 303.893.1650). Internet’s supposedly coming tomorrow (4 megabits, no less).

In the meantime I should be reachable via my cell (617.320.9757) in case anyone needs me, although with concrete being a primary and preferred element in the construction of my new residence, the Verizon reception is best described as “spotty” (as an aside, if anyone has any recommendations on VOIP providers for a home line, I’d appreciate suggestions – leaning towards Vonage at the moment).

At the moment I’m writing this from the Mississipi Mud coffee shop (free wifi – SSID is ACTIONTEC) between 15th and 16th on Wazee. Unfortunately, the wifi seems to block the AIM ports, so you won’t catch me online. If you’re in the neighborhood, drop by and say hello. I’ll be here for several hours catching up on the several hundred post-filter emails that seem to have accumulated in the past three days.
