I managed to make it out for a few hours yesterday during our near 36 hour snowstorm (that actually didn’t dump too much on us Coastal folks) to snowshoe the nearby Newman Bird Sanctuary. Pictures, as always, are so-so, but it was a lot of fun. If you’re really bored, you can compare/contrast the winter shots with some from the same park in summer.
Anyway, after I trudged home, I was essentially housebound for the next 24 hours and dug up a few links that are worth surfacing here rather than just in my del.icio.us feed:
1. SessionSaver: Via Sequeira comes notice of this Firefox extension. It’s a must install, IMO, if you’re on Firefox. I’m addicted already.
2. Glimmr: Via Planet Gentoo comes notification of a new Mono project, Glimmr. For the Linux desktop crowd, it’s a Mono based Flickr uploading tool similar to Michele’s Flickr Uploadr, written in C# on Mono rather than Python. It uploaded the picture above.
3. Video: I won’t spoil it for you, but Eric Smith linked to one of the cooler things I’ve seen in a while. It’s not my usual thing, but this is simply incredible. And yes, it is Safe For Work (SFW).
