Apparently Mother Nature’s not quite done with us yet; on the way home tonight, after the 4 PM Winter Storm warning went into effect, I was pelted with pebble-sized pieces of ice, and we’re supposed to get up to another 8 inches of snow before all is said and done. I’m pretty much expecting a power outage like last time once the snow/sleet starts freezing onto the power lines. It’s already spiked on and off twice, but this time I’m prepared: I’ve warmed the place up ahead of time, and picked up some candles on the way home.
So what’s the point of all this? Well, don’t try calling me before 10 or 10:30 tomorrow morning, as I’ll be working from home until then. Unless I’ve been without power for most of the night and it’s freezing here; in that case, try me at the office 🙂 Call me masochistic or someone who’s lived in New England too long, but I actually enjoy these things, as long as I’m not forced to travel in them. Makes those lazy summer days in the hammock listening to the ball game all the sweeter.
