Amtrak‘s Acela, to me, is the hands down best way to travel. Some folks – my brother included – are not fans because it takes about 3 times as long as the shuttle and costs more. Fair points. But I love it because:
- I just show up and get on. No security hassle, no metal detector, and most importantly, no crotch mauling.
- No sitting on the tarmac. No ATC holds. No random weather delays. No spending the night in the Cincinatti Radisson. My longest delay on a train is 35 minutes.
- Comfort. They have big seats, with full desks that you can use even if the person in front of you leans back. Plus, every one’s got a power strip.
Now if only they had onboard wi-fi, I’d never leave. We need more of these things, ASAP.
P.S. Yes, I took the shot above on the trip down, but PLEASE do not call this moblogging. I loathe that term.
