Travel Tomorrow / Monday

It having become painfully evident that the mere fact that I’ve returned from Denver isn’t enough to get the sputtering Red Sox offense going – we’re down 7-1 to the Rockies (yeah, yeah, I know) as I write this – I’ll be rising at the crack of dawn tomorrow morning [1] to make the journey down to Boston to try and turn this ship around. Enough of this losing, I’m tired of it. No, I’m not worried about the standings – I’ll let Seth explain why – I’m just sick of seeing good pitching wasted.

Oh, and there’s some sort of IBM Virtual Worlds conference tomorrow in Cambridge. Or so I hear.

Monday, I’m left with what could be the dumbest itinerary I’ve scheduled, since, oh, maybe September of 2005. Just before 8, I’ll depart for the West Coast. Just before 2, I should touch down. 3-5, I’ve got a client engagement. Just before 12, I’ll be en route back to Maine.

Yes, I’m serious.

Dinner for Monday, FYI, is still unbooked, so if you’ve always wondered what it would be like to have dinner with a monk, I’m at your disposal. And will have transport, notably. There’s an outside shot I stay one more day, depending on cost and scheduling, so I’ll keep everyone posted on that score.

In the meantime, it’s time for bed.

[1] Thanks to Philip McClure for the HowTo on using cron and mplayer as a makeshift clock; I don’t have one here in Maine, and the N75 is 50/50 on getting me up on time.
