This is why Sugar have a huge incentive to brand themselves as Open Source, but if they are not truly Open Source, this will dilute the term for other players and what it means for customers.

Jeff: objection sustained. in my view, Sugar is an open source firm, but i appreciate that opinions differ on the matter. as for dilution, it looks as if that’s already occurred – assuming that you don’t think Sugar is legitimately open source.
