Am I Cursed?

These are the facts, and they are not in dispute:

  1. For the few days before I left Denver, the temperature high was in the single digits.
  2. The high today, now that I’m no longer there, is expected to be 30.
  3. The high in Boston the day before I arrived was 30.
  4. The high in Boston the day I arrived was 8. 1
  5. The anticipated weather this evening, when I’m scheduled to fly out?
    TODAY
PARTLY SUNNY. A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SNOW SHOWERS THIS
AFTERNOON. NOT AS COLD WITH HIGHS IN THE MID 30S. SOUTH WINDS 10 TO
15 MPH. CHANCE OF SNOW 20 PERCENT.

    TONIGHT
    SNOW LIKELY IN THE EVENING
    THEN SNOW OR RAIN AFTER
    MIDNIGHT.

Other evidence for your consideration: my poor travel luck may, in fact, be contagious. Since joining RedMonk, Cote’s been stranded overnight at least twice, and Anne’s been driven right into a snowbank.

You make the call. Either way, don’t be too surprised if tomorrow finds me still here in Boston.

  1. The weather is of more than academic interest this trip because I’m staying 2 miles from the Hotel@MIT, where Mashup Camp is being held. Normally, it’d be a great walk down Memorial Drive right along the Charles and up Mass Ave. After about 50 feet yesterday, I gave up and hopped a cab because I was afraid that I was going to lose an ear or finger to frostbite. I’ve been meaning to talk to you about this weather we’re having…

You’re just lucky the curse doesn’t follow you inside. The minute the Hotel@MIT heater fails, you get sent home. Capice?
