i’m with Michael on this; the offering seems *far* too restrictive to be generally useful – forget the single platform bit, but the relatively arbitrary and rigid rules are too much. iTunes succeeded b/c they didn’t have too much of that

after using AIGLX/Compiz for a while, i can say definitively that this is excellent news

wherein a *security guard* knows Linux via both Canonical and Ubuntu; i’ll say it again – Ubuntu is one of the better things to happen to Linux in a while
