    Re the Flash 8 thing… this won’t always work but it generally does, and does on the unbox site…

    in your home directory cd into .mozilla/firefox. Open pluginreg.dat in a text editor. Find the string that lists the Flash plugin and change 7 to 8. FF will now advertise to sites that you have Flash 8….
