Scoble’s post here<\/a> gave me the kick in the pants I needed to do something I’d intended to do for a while – get full text included in our Atom and RSS feeds. As he puts it:<\/p>\n

What’s ironic is that in the commercial site’s rush to get me to visit their Web page so they can monetize my eyeballs they’ve pushed me to Google or MSN and away from having a permanent relationship with their site directly.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Now I was at least providing excerpts, but that’s still not good enough. It irks me when a feed forces me out of Bloglines<\/a> (which is now my de facto RSS reader, taking the torch from Straw), but I was doing the same. <\/p>\n

So this morning I took a quick read through the Movable Type forums, and found the following post<\/a> that illustrates just how to modify the stock MT templates. For those uninclined to follow the link, it’s this hard: <\/p>\n

Go to your RSS templates and change any occurence of “MTEntryExcerpt” to “MTEntryBody” <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And you’re done. So from now on, tecosystems will be providing the whole feed, and nothing but the whole feed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
