{"id":540,"date":"2006-03-10T14:09:21","date_gmt":"2006-03-10T21:09:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.redmonk.com\/jgovernor\/wp\/?p=540"},"modified":"2006-03-10T14:09:21","modified_gmt":"2006-03-10T21:09:21","slug":"uk-innovation-roundup-revoo-and-other-stuff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/redmonk.com\/jgovernor\/uk-innovation-roundup-revoo-and-other-stuff\/","title":{"rendered":"UK Innovation Roundup: Revoo and other stuff"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><DIV>I was reading James Cherkoff&#8217;s&nbsp;blog <A href=\"http:\/\/cherkoff.typepad.com\/modernmarketing\/2006\/03\/web_20_in_the_u.html\">modern marketing<\/A> today when he called out <A href=\"http:\/\/www.reevoo.com\/\">Reevoo<\/A>      , a user generated content product review service.<\/DIV><BLOCKQUOTE>  <DIV>  <P>One thing I think is cool about the service is that the reviews are   displayed just as they are written by the customer.&nbsp; This means you get   practical comments such as, <EM>&#147;the camera is a silly shape to have swinging   round your neck,&#148;<\/EM> or&#8230;<\/P><\/DIV><A><\/A>  <DIV>  <P>, <EM>&#147;the screen scratches very easily&#148;<\/EM> &#8211; which I think is a   refreshing change from the techno-language sometimes used by   manufacturers.&nbsp; The company has been going gangbusters and now works for   <A href=\"http:\/\/www.dixons.co.uk\/martprd\/editorial\/reevoo\">Dixons,<\/A> <A href=\"http:\/\/shop.orange.co.uk\/shop\/show\/handset\/sony_ericsson_w800i\/detail\/pay_monthly\">Orange,<\/A>   <A href=\"http:\/\/www.jessops.com\/search\/viewproduct.cfm?Product=NIKD70S1870&amp;CFID=7669494&amp;CFTOKEN=48c320d-ab34e024-d29c-4362-b1c3-00214160a0fe\">Jessops<\/A>   and <A href=\"http:\/\/www.misco.co.uk\/HPSinfo\/%7E102125%7EWW%7E\/Samsung%20SM710N%2017in%20TFT.htm\">Misco<\/A>   and has just served up it&#146;s <A href=\"http:\/\/www.reevoo.com\/blogs\/richardanson\/?p=87\">millionth<\/A>   review.&nbsp; The whole thing is edge-tastic with all the management <A href=\"http:\/\/www.reevoo.com\/blogs\/\">writing<\/A> blogs about their progress,   tag cloud reviews and tools that let bloggers add reviews about products to   the main site &#150; so you can get your own back if what you&#146;ve got, isn&#146;t what   you bought!<\/P><\/DIV><\/BLOCKQUOTE><P>Given that I have been <A href=\"http:\/\/www.redmonk.com\/jgovernor\/archives\/001342.html\">beating the UK innovation drum<\/A>      lately, I should add Reevoo to my list. Especially given it is attentive enough to market conversations that someone came across&nbsp;my blog and <EM>added themselves<\/EM> to the list. Nice one Richard Anson. <STRONG>Beware revoo.com<\/STRONG>  &#8211; that is not the site.<\/P><P>So who else is thinking about local innovation? Here is a <A href=\"http:\/\/www.futurescape.co.uk\/wiki\/index.php?title=Internet\">UK&nbsp;innovation wiki<\/A>&nbsp;from Futurescape, with a few nice pointers.<\/P><P>Wait a minute &#8211; <A href=\"http:\/\/www.last.fm\/\">last.fm<\/A> is English? If it is then I take it all back. The UK rules in Web 2.0&#8230; seriously, the last.fm is the absololute&nbsp;dogs. It tracks what you listen to and makes recommendations based on other people&#8217;s playlists and or tags.
