The meme runs and runs.<\/P><P>Are the <A href=\"http:\/\/conferences.oreillynet.com\/cs\/et2005\/view\/e_sess\/6336\">geeks really taking over the world<\/A>?<\/P><P>Here is the latest <A href=\"http:\/\/www.technorati.com\/pop\/blogs\/\">Top 100 listing<\/A> from Technorati, which measures the buzz around the outpourings of what&nbsp;I call the Technocrati.<\/P><P>Some call them <A href=\"http:\/\/www.msnbc.msn.com\/id\/6693381\/site\/newsweek\/\">Alpha Bloggers<\/A>.<\/P><P>Some call them <A href=\"http:\/\/myst-technology.com\/mysmartchannels\/public\/item\/55175?model=user\/dvco\/dvco-blog&amp;style=user\/dvco\/dvco&amp;scheme=corp\">e-fluencers<\/A>.<\/P><P>What could be more appropriate than &#8220;double-clique&#8221; it. Their influence continues to build.They are the gatekeepers of attention. Without a link from the cluster, or a trackback,&nbsp;you&#8217;re not even <A href=\"http:\/\/www.doesthisblogmakemybuttlookbig.com\/2005\/03\/clist_bloggers_.html\">C-list<\/A>.<\/P><P>I just call these people&nbsp;the TECHNOCRATI.<\/P><P>A-listers are mostly nice folks, in my experience, happy to help and on the side of the angels. But don&#8217;t worry if you aren&#8217;t one of them.<\/P><P>The trick is not to obsess about the size of your readership. Just obsess about your content, about whatever you obsess about. That&#8217;s the best way to win some notches on the old OPML post. <A href=\"http:\/\/headrush.typepad.com\/creating_passionate_users\/2005\/06\/open_source_pas.html\">Passion<\/A> is often contagious. <\/P><P><A href=\"http:\/\/www.shirky.com\/writings\/powerlaw_weblog.html\">Power laws and inequality<\/A> might worry you, but forget about all of that. Somewhere on the <A href=\"http:\/\/longtail.typepad.com\/the_long_tail\/2005\/06\/why_is_this_blo.html\">Long Tail<\/A>&nbsp;your audience will find you. Try and have the <A href=\"http:\/\/pedersondesigns.com\/?p=34\">smartest conversation<\/A>, not the most popular. <\/P><P>In this post i linked to some A-listers. They probably won&#8217;t notice. I bet others do. Its all&nbsp;good.&nbsp;<\/P><P>I just got an email from an A-lister, <A href=\"http:\/\/www.webmink.net\/\">Simon Phipps<\/A>, who asks if I am coming to the J-<EM>Bloggerati<\/EM> meetup at Java One next week.
