I should have mentioned this before, and i probably would have if Chris<\/a> had written this before…. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n <\/p>\n HomeCamp<\/a> is the home hacking, automation and green technology community.\u00a0 Think smart meters, monitoring and graphing energy usage. <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n The first event was held last November at Imperial College and was sponsored by Greenmonk and CurrentCost where we assembled 50 people and shared experiences and discussed strategy of monitoring, home automation and energy grids. <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n The event had big attendance from IBM and leading people from the monitoring, automation and green spaces.\u00a0 HomeCamp 2 aims to build on the success of the first event, with an OpenSim event running alongside for virtual participation and to demo the RealWorld and VirtualWorld modelling that the community has been doing.\u00a0 Event sponsors are CurrentCost and Greenmonk and we so far have around 75 people signed up.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n The reason I feel this is significant to you is because there has been a huge amount of code and applications released focussed purely on using technology for home energy monitoring and automation.\u00a0 We have an active google group and quite a few videos and content showcasing the various applications and hardware currently being used by geeks to save money and live greener.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n If you require further details, or would like to talk regarding this, I can be contacted on the details below.
