I am enjoying the european startup tracker blog, [Vecosys](http://www.vecosys.com/2007/01/26/xbn-the-xhtml-business-network/), a fair bit. Its kind of like TechCrunch without the self-flagellation. One think I particularly like is the focus on some lower level standards that will help to make the web a better place to live, have fun and work. Things like [microformats](http://www.vecosys.com/2007/01/28/bye-bye-headhunters-linkedin-has-create-9m-hresumes/), [OpenID](http://www.vecosys.com/2007/01/28/yahoo-supports-openid/) and [XHTML.](http://www.vecosys.com/2007/01/26/xbn-the-xhtml-business-network/)

That is, Vecosys is giving some attention to the mechanics and semantics of the social web through dorkery, which makes it a good read for both developers and business managers. And you can’t say fairer than that. Well don Sam and Mike.
disclaimer: Vecosys kindly [ran a pointer to a UK software development conference in March](http://www.vecosys.com/2007/01/26/qcon-london/) as a favour to me.
