Deary me. I was just doing some surfing around Vista and [this popped up](http://www.isogon.com/partners/ibm_tivoli/VistaFAQs.htm).

This week IBM completed its acquisition of mainframe tools vendor [Isogon](http://www.isogon.com/ibm_to_acquire_isogon.htm).

One of the important parts of the Isogon portfolio is its IT asset management product line called [Vista](http://www.isogon.com/partners/ibm_tivoli/VistaFAQs.htm).

DOH!

I think there is every chance IBM will just rename the Vista toolset, and let it go. But what would you do in IBM’s place?

Seems like Vista is a crowded namespace. Who advised Microsoft on this, anyway?
