Yesterday afternoon I met up with Henry Blythe, managing director of [Arch Consulting](http://www.arch.co.uk/), a UK software and services company that specialises in deploying and extending SAP using Adobe Forms and PDF technology.

Henry used to be [Thomas Otter](http://theotherthomasotter.wordpress.com/)‘s boss, which is how I came across him. We met at Bedales, my favourite little wine shop.

One of the issues we discussed was fact that Adobe needs to [move beyond](http://www.redmonk.com/jgovernor/2006/09/27/great-ar-people-a-priceless-asset/) its historical shrinkwrap model, and double down in terms of resources and interactions with Adobe-oriented software and services companies that want to build and deploy on Adobe platforms. If Adobe is serious about competing with IBM and Microsoft for corporate developer mindshare its going to need to be more collaborative with its channel.

And so we thought- why not meet up occasionally to discuss what Adobe is doing right, and how it could improve its developer and ISV relations programs? I don’t mean Adobe _selling_ to ISVs (software or Adobe consulting hours) but rather helping them to sell to their customers. Rather than do something that requires major resources, the Bedale Group will rely on social software, wine, and like minds. The first meeting will be week of March 19th. I am hoping [Tink](http://www.tink.ws/blog/) and Simon Fanthorpe from [INPS](http://www.inps3.co.uk/anm/anmviewer.asp?a=73&z=49) will be inaugural members, and perhaps Andy Hood from AKQA.
