While Apollo (the Greek god) gets the wrap for being rational, even-handed, and generally sane when compared to the other Greek gods, the name &#8220;Apollo&#8221; (whether pointing at the Greek god or the RIA framework) always makes me think of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Marsyas\">the story of Marsyas<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Marsyas thought himself a better pipe player than Apollo, who played the lyre. So, this being Greek myth, the satyr Marsyas challenges Apollo to a music match, wherein the winner (as judged by the muses) can do whatever he wants with the looser. As you might guess, calm, sane, and rational Apollo wins out. What gets weird is that Apollo then decided to string Marsyas up on a tree (or in a cave in some versions of the story) and flay the satyr alive. Turns out the Sun god is as nutty as the others.<\/p>\n<p>Now, drawing an analogy to the RIA space would be silly. But, it does show the fun you can have with Greek origin names: there&#8217;s always some whacky story to dig up. I&#8217;ve gotta do <i>something<\/i> with that liberal arts degree I have!<\/p>\n<p>Hot-tip: don&#8217;t name your RIA framework Marsyas.<\/p>\n<p><b>Disclaimer:<\/b> Adobe is a client.
