{"id":582,"date":"2007-01-18T16:19:11","date_gmt":"2007-01-18T22:19:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.redmonk.com\/cote\/2007\/01\/18\/more-on-ibm-and-saas\/"},"modified":"2007-01-18T16:19:11","modified_gmt":"2007-01-18T22:19:11","slug":"more-on-ibm-and-saas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/redmonk.com\/cote\/2007\/01\/18\/more-on-ibm-and-saas\/","title":{"rendered":"More on IBM and SaaS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just bookmarking <a href=\"http:\/\/aqualung.typepad.com\/aqualung\/2007\/01\/is_ibm_missing_.html\">this post<\/a> wouldn&#8217;t pull the relevant quote from it enough, so here&#8217;s a whole post pointing to <a href=\"http:\/\/aqualung.typepad.com\/aqualung\/2007\/01\/is_ibm_missing_.html\">Ric&#8217;s anecdote about trying to get SaaS from the IBM ecosystem<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>[B]ut my next question was &#8220;does IBM offer [RequisitePro] as a SaaS product?&#8221; &#8211; i.e. could I &#8220;rent&#8221; Web access to it for the duration of the project?<\/p>\n<p>After the channel partner had recovered from his laughing fit, he explained that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.redmonk.com\/cote\/2006\/11\/30\/ibm-swg-saas-and-the-shackles-of-success\/\">IBM is a bit sensitive about cutting its channel partners out of the loop<\/a>.
