Here are some:<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/apple-sells-over-300000-ipads-first-day-89904642.html\">Official iPad Sales Numbers<\/a><\/h2>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Apple today announced that it <b>sold over 300,000 iPads in the US as of midnight Saturday, April 3<\/b>. These sales included deliveries of pre-ordered iPads to customers, deliveries to channel partners and sales at Apple Retail Stores. Apple also announced that <b>iPad users downloaded over one million apps from Apple&#8217;s App Store<\/b> and <b>over 250,000 ebooks from its iBookstore during the first day<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It feels great to have the iPad launched into the world &#8212; it&#8217;s going to be a game changer,&#8221; said Steve Jobs, Apple&#8217;s CEO. &#8220;<b>iPad users, on average, downloaded more than three apps and close to one book within hours of unpacking their new iPad<\/b>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>More <a href=\"http:\/\/moconews.net\/article\/419-an-ipad-day-index\/\">numbers commentary from Joseph Tartakoff<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/www.computerworld.com\/s\/article\/9174486\/Developer_enthusiasm_for_iPad_slackens_as_Android_surges\">iPad Interest<\/a><\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>\nOf the [&#8220;more than 1,000&#8221;] developers who were polled, <b>53% said they were &#8220;very interested&#8221; in the iPad as a development platform<\/b>, <b>down from 58% in January<\/b>. That put the <b>tablet in third place, behind the iPhone, with 87%, and<\/b> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.computerworld.com\/s\/article\/9136345\/Google_Update\"><b>Google<\/b><\/a><b>&#8216;s Android operating system, with 81%, but significantly ahead of others, such as the Blackberry, at 43% and Windows Phone 7, at 34%<\/b>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thevarguy.com\/2010\/03\/25\/red-hat-and-linux-bloggers-the-big-disconnect\/\">The first $10 billion is the hardest<\/a><\/h2>\n<blockquote>\n<p>No doubt, Red Hat is in solid financial shape. And The VAR Guy even owns a few shares in Red Hat. But let\u2019s not lose sight of the facts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Red Hat<\/b> is growing nicely, and is <b>poised to become the first $1 billion open source company<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li><b>Microsoft\u2019s annual revenues for 2009 were $59 billion<\/b>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Translation: <b>Microsoft is still 60X to 100X the size of the world\u2019s most successful open source company<\/b>, depending on which financial quarter you\u2019re tracking. That\u2019s rather amazing.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/www.infoworld.com\/d\/networking\/comcast-netflix-report-rise-in-ipv6-activity-653\">IPv6 Still Small<\/a><\/h2>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Geoff Huston, chief scientist at APNIC and an expert on Internet infrastructure issues, says <b>IPv6 now represents 1 percent of all Internet traffic<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The good news is that from 2008 to 2010, in terms of routing IPv6, we were growing faster than we thought,&#8221; Huston said, pointing out that the number of IPv6 entries in t<b>he core routing tables grew from 1,000 to 3,000 in that timeframe<\/b>. However, the number of <b>IPv4 routing table entries now tops 300,000<\/b>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mspmentor.net\/2010\/03\/29\/zenoss-open-source-infiltrates-large-service-providers\/\">Tales from the &#8220;Little 4&#8221;<\/a><\/h2>\n<blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>Zenoss generated roughly <b>150% year-over-year revenue growth in 2009 vs. 2008<\/b>;<\/li>\n<li>the Zenoss <b>customer base grew roughly 40% in 2009 vs. 2008<\/b><\/li>\n<li>for e<b>very $1 customers initially spent with Zenoss, the same customer typically spent an additional 40 cents<\/b> in order to expand their use of Zenoss;<\/li>\n<li>major service providers and consulting firms embracing Zenoss include Accenture, CSC, Perot and Verizon; and<\/li>\n<li>VMware itself uses Zenoss to manage virtualized data centers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/www.datacenterknowledge.com\/archives\/2010\/03\/29\/e-filing-as-an-efficiency-winner\/\">Paperless at the IRS<\/a><\/h2>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;<b>General Electric used to deliver their [US tax] return in an 18-wheeler truck<\/b>,&#8221; recalls Tony McMahon, the director of Enterprise Computing Centers for the IRS. Instead, GE&#8217;s return is now sent electronically using <b>the XML format, as is mandatory for corporations with more than $10 million in assets<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>A total of <b>94 million returns were filed electronically in 2009, up from 79 million in 2007 and 88 million in 2008<\/b>. About <b>45 million paper returns were filed last year<\/b>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/www.datacenterknowledge.com\/archives\/2010\/03\/17\/rightscale-launches-1-millionth-cloud-server\/\">The console that launched a million servers<\/a><\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>\nCloud broker <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rightscale.com\/\"><b>RightScale<\/b><\/a> <b>has launched more than 1 million servers<\/b> on the cloud through its RightScale Cloud Management Platform, the company <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rightscale.com\/news_events\/press_releases\/2010\/RightScale-Launches-One-Million-Servers-in-the-Cloud.php\">announced today<\/a>. <b>RightScale, a three-year old cloud specialist<\/b>, has helped deploy cloud installations for clients ranging from social gaming company Zynga to entertainment conglomerate Sony Music.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/www.adobe.com\/aboutadobe\/invrelations\/pdfs\/q110script.pdf\">Adobe Q1 2010 Revenue Breakout<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Summarized &amp; extracted from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adobe.com\/aboutadobe\/invrelations\/pdfs\/q110script.pdf\">the transcript of their recent earnings call<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Creative Solutions: $432.0 million, compared to $460.7 million in Q1 fiscal 2009, and $429.3 million last quarter<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li><b>Business Productivity Solutions revenue was $245.8 million, compared to $227.0 million in Q1 fiscal 2009, and $211.8 million last quarter<\/b>. Within <b>Business Productivity, Knowledge Worker revenue was $165.9 million, compared to $149.9 million in Q1 fiscal 2009, and $131.8 million last quarter<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li><b>Enterprise<\/b> revenue was <b>$79.9 million, compared to $77.1 million in Q1 fiscal 2009, and $80.0 million last quarter<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li><b>Omniture segment revenue in Q1 was $87.7 million<\/b>. Gartner&#8217;s data for Apple is consistent with IDC&#8217;s for 2009, showing the <b>iPhone OS holding third place with a 14.4% share<\/b>, but Gartner&#8217;s data more clearly shows the significant-but-slipping lead held by Symbian OS, as well as the iPhone&#8217;s surge past a slumping Windows Mobile.
