Today’s extra is a podcast, a lecture given by Professor Laurence J. Kotlikoff<\/a> (direct MP3 download here<\/a>). I’ve only listened to half of it, but it’s been fun so far. I’m no economist, or macro guy when it comes to The Financial Crater, but I like this guy’s take: the basic problem with all that banking stuff wasn’t the tools, it was the immoral and inept leadership and management – the “hucksters” running the show, and the overall context they created. He lays it out in a way that makes you think, “oh, of course that wasn’t – and isn’t – going to work out well for us dumb chickens.”<\/p>\n It’s a nice, simple story. My eyes glaze over when he gets to the details of his solution, but it does make me wonder whatever happened to the simplicity of the 3-6-3 Rule<\/a>.<\/p>\nThe Links<\/h2>\n
