Here are some:<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mobilecrunch.com\/2009\/10\/01\/mobile-internet-sees-34-percent-jump-this-year-thanks-women-teens-seniors\/\">Mobile: It&#8217;s gonna be big, bro&#8217;!<\/a><\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>\nThe big finding is that <strong>mobile access to the Internet <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.nielsen.com\/nielsenwire\/online_mobile\/mobile-web-up-34-percent-july-09\/\">has jumped 34 percent compared to last year<\/a><\/strong>, and it looks <strong>like women, teens and, yes, seniors make up the bulk of that increase<\/strong>. The mobile Internet: not just a place for 20-something men anymore. Darn.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And, see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.economist.com\/businessfinance\/displaystory.cfm?story_id=14563636\"><i>The Economist<\/i> on the uptick in mobile related cash<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/www.infoworld.com\/d\/mobilize\/windows-mobiles-demise-greatly-exaggerated-isuppli-says-093?source=rss_infoworld_news\">Windows Mobile, the numbers saga continues<\/a><\/h2>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Windows Mobile now runs on 27.7 million smartphones and is projected to be in use on some 67.9 million smartphones in 2013<\/strong>, iSuppli said today. The 2013 forecast means that Windows Mobile <strong>would have a 15 percent share of the global smartphone market by then<\/strong>, <strong>second to the Symbian OS, which would have a 47 percent market share<\/strong>.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Meanwhile, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/no-apples-iphone-is-not-40-of-the-smartphone-market-2009-9\">iPhone numbers can be a bit suspicious<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/www.texastechpulse.com\/texas_q3_vc_totals_around_363_97m\/s-0024337.html\">Texas T<\/a><\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>\nThe amount of <strong>venture capital invested in Texas in Q3 totaled around $363.97M<\/strong>, according to an analysis by Texastechpulse of venture deals in our venture database. According to our analysis, <strong>investments were up from the $282M invested in Q2 of this year<\/strong>.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/deals.venturebeat.com\/2009\/09\/30\/study-venture-liquidity-still-a-trickle\/\">VCs in General<\/a><\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>Overall, <strong>venture-backed liquidity (the combination of mergers, acquisitions, and initial public offerings) added up to $2.7 billion<\/strong>, <strong>down 49 percent from the same period last year<\/strong>, VentureSource says. It\u2019s even <strong>a drop from the $3 billion of venture liquidity earned in Q2<\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That said, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.techcrunch.com\/2009\/10\/02\/venture-exits-might-be-down-but-total-ma-activity-is-definitely-picking-up\/\">large tech companies are starting to lay-out cash for other tech companies<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/www.techcrunch.com\/2009\/09\/30\/reader-survey-what-makes-you-tick\/\">The New Tech Trade Rags<\/a><\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>Since May, the <strong>TechCrunch network has added nearly 3 million additional readers and 6 million pages views<\/strong>. Our <strong>September audience stats now stand at more than 10.5 million unique readers<\/strong> (<strong>7 million from our sites and 3.5 million from RSS<\/strong>) and <strong>more than 22 million page views<\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eweek.com\/c\/a\/Database\/Survey-Microsoft-SQL-Server-Tops-All-Databases-in-Emerging-Markets-621198\/?kc=rss\">&#8220;I&#8217;m big in China.&#8221;<\/a><\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>\nThe <strong>survey of more than 400 developers<\/strong> also showed that the open source database MySQL is closing the lead that SQL has in emerging markets [of China, India, Eastern Europe, and Latin America<br \/>\n].
