It&#8217;s a developer heavy conference and I have a pretty flexible schedule, but I&#8217;ve managed to meet with several folks and friends of RedMonk, e.g., some RIA Weekly recording <a href=\"http:\/\/www.redmonk.com\/cote\/2008\/09\/16\/riaweekly20\/\">with Andi Gutmans<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.redmonk.com\/cote\/2008\/09\/16\/riaweekly021\/\">Mike Potter, with a curling bonus<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>Also, I&#8217;ve had as few gastronomic delights, to wit:<\/p>\n<p class=\"pic\">\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/cote\/2864758000\/\" title=\"Jeff Haynie Gets a Big, Fried Fish by cote, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3144\/2864758000_230b6c2bc4.jpg\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" alt=\"Jeff Haynie Gets a Big, Fried Fish\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.jeffhaynie.us\/\">Jeff<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/mattquinlan.blogspot.com\/\">Matt<\/a> of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.appcelerator.com\/\">Appcelerator<\/a> took me out to dinner last night up to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cliffhouse.com\/index.htm\">Sutro&#8217;s<\/a>. While I didn&#8217;t get the mega fish above (I got the scallops with shredded pork on top and chicken liver p&acirc;t&eacute; &#8211; damn good!), it was clearly the delight of the table. Interestingly enough, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/cote\/388130062\/in\/set-72157594574616569\/\">I&#8217;d visited the Sutro bathhouse ruins a last year<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Next up, on recommendation of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/seancarlson\">Sean Carlson<\/a>, I visited <a href=\"http:\/\/www.trespotrillosmexicanrestaurant.com\/\">Tres Potrillos<\/a> this morning for breakfast:<\/p>\n<p class=\"pic\">\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/cote\/2865806224\/\" title=\"Huevos con Chorizo at Tres Potrillos by cote, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3128\/2865806224_46181209f9.jpg\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" alt=\"Huevos con Chorizo at Tres Potrillos\" \/><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s a massive breakfast, even by Texas standards &#8211; I didn&#8217;t eat it all by far. That said, if you&#8217;re around the Santa Clara convention center, I&#8217;d recommend checking Tres Potrillos out: it&#8217;ll be better than what you can get at the Hyatt.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ZendCon has been enjoyable and, interestingly, relaxing.
