Last week we signed up a new client in the IT management space, Reductive Labs<\/a>. While their company name may not be well known – yes, I’ve already suggested changing it ;> – their ruby-based, open source automation platform Puppet<\/a> is actually very well regarded.\n<\/p>\n

For example, Google uses puppet to manage over 5,000 laptops and desktops<\/a> and they seem to like it<\/a>. RedHat<\/a> as well, along plenty more, both on the record<\/a> and off.<\/p>\n

As RedMonkTV fans may recall, I talked with the founder of Puppet last year while he, Luke Kanies<\/a>, was in Austin for the InnoTech ’07 conference:<\/p>\n

Not too long ago, Andrew Shafer<\/a> joined Reductive Labs full-time, and as Luke mentioned recently, they’re Going For It<\/a> with Puppet. This means that, yes, Reductive Labs is a company of two people: perhaps RedMonk’s smallest client. Our goal, as it is with all clients from 2 people to 100,000’s of people is to help them be successful, and it’ll be fun working with Luke and Andrew.<\/p>\n
